Provides acute and comprehensive health care to patients in various states of health or illness. PAs or NPs practice medicine within their scope of practice based on their education, training and experience. Successfully collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals as needed to provide care to patients.
EDUCATION:
For PAs: Successful completion of PA educational program at an institution accredited by ARC-PA (Accreditation and Review Commission on Education for the PA.) Bachelors degree required, Masters degree preferred. Current NCCPA Board Certification required and active licensure to practice as PA by the VT Board of Medical Practice.
For NPs: Registered nurse who has successfully completed formal education program approved by the Vermont Board of Nursing, or state or national accrediting agency which prepares nurses to function in advanced nursing practice. Must also be certified by national certifying agency recognized by the Vermont State Board of Nursing.
EXPERIENCE:
Previous experience as a PA or NP desired.
