Materials Supervisor

Summary

To provide manufacturing with a schedule that will foster the most efficient utilization of equipment, manpower and inventories, which will satisfy all customer requirements.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

 

1. Interface with manufacturing with respect to schedule controls, inventory management, capacity utilization and customer needs.

2. Provide leadership and guidance to subordinates.

3. Maintain compliance with budgetary limitations in all areas.

4. Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.

5. Champion Inventory Key Issue Team

Supervisory Responsibilities:                                                   

Manages total of nine employees in the Production Control Area. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience:                                                  

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Language Skills:                                               

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

 

Mathematical Skills:                                                    

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

 

Reasoning Ability:                                           

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to clearly structure action plans and priorities in an ambiguous environment with numerous competing demands.

 

Computer Skills:
