Job Summary
Ready to electrify the world of immersive horror? 13th Floor Entertainment Group—the nation’s largest Halloween-themed entertainment company—is searching for a rare breed: a Haunt Production Tech with the skills and imagination to conjure unforgettable scares. In this unique role, you’ll blend hands-on technical mastery with creative vision, building the magic behind the mayhem that thrills guests coast to coast.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and troubleshoot addressable LED lighting systems and controllers.
- Monitor and service audio playback equipment deployed throughout the event.
- Operate, maintain, and service fog and snow machines to ensure consistent show quality.
- Conduct nightly pre-show checks and post-show maintenance.
- Assist with event setup and teardown, including installation and removal of lighting, control, audio, and effects equipment.
- Respond swiftly and effectively to technical issues during live operations.
- Document technical issues, resolutions, and inventory status.
Qualifications
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Experience with addressable LEDs (e.g., WS2811, WS2812) and lighting controllers (e.g., Falcon, Kulp).
- Familiarity with audio systems for live events or installations.
- Basic knowledge of AC/DC electrical safety and low-voltage wiring.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities..
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with holiday or event lighting installations.
- Familiarity with xLights or similar sequencing software.
- Experience operating fog, haze, or snow effects machines.
- Background in technical theater, theme parks, or live event production.
Schedule
- Full-time seasonal, typically 40+ hours/week.
- Day and occasional night shifts required during load-in and load-out.
- Night and weekend shifts required during show run.
