Our CNA position includes a $2,000 sign-on bonus for candidates who commit to full-time employment for two years.
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) plays a vital role in supporting patient care by performing a variety of non-clinical tasks to ensure comfort and well-being. Responsibilities include assisting with hygiene, feeding, and treatment preparation; recording vital signs; changing bed linens; preparing treatment trays; and supporting nursing staff with additional patient care duties. This role follows established guidelines and operates under close supervision.
- Patient Care
- Properly identifies patient by requesting patient name, DOB prior to any patient interactions.
- Obtains and documents vital signs (weight, height, blood pressure, pulse, respirations) and LMP. Expediently reports any unusual incidents or observed changes in patient condition or behavior to appropriate personnel. .
- Ensures confidentiality of protected patient health information by utilizing safe business practices that support HIPPA regulations.
- Greet each patient with direct eye contact, introduce yourself and explain to patient what you are about to doing
- Prepares, stocks, and clean exam rooms and maintain supplies and equipment for patient care.
- Performs CLIA waived testing as ordered and document.
- Assists with patient cleaning, feeding, and preparation for treatment, takes and records vital signs, changes bed linen, prepares treatment trays and other supplies, and assists nursing service personnel with a variety of other patient care duties.
- Relies on established guidelines to accomplish tasks. Works under close supervision.
- Quality
- Participates in quality improvement initiatives including but not limited to gathering and trending data and actively supporting process changes that foster improved quality of care and process.
- Maintains a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic health care environment by cleaning rooms and equipment, preparing for sterilization and disinfection, promptly reporting damaged equipment and other problems to appropriate personnel, and efficiently and properly handling linen and supplies.
- Understands and adheres to corporate compliance procedures, accrediting bodies standards and the ethical and religious directives when providing care
- Utilizes all equipment, supplies, facilities, and resources in a prudent and efficient manner in order to ensure efficient departmental operations and the provision of high quality health care services.
- Strives to promote the quality and efficiency of his/her own performance through participation in staff educational programs, approved continuing education courses, and specialized skill training programs.
- Coordination of Care
- Coordinates patient flow to ensure physician efficiency includes managing the patient schedule and wait times.
- Check refrigerator temperature daily, if assigned and clean refrigerator as assigned and document
- Perform CLIA waived testing controls daily, if assigned. Check for expiration on bottles
- Monitor 02 tank levels; notify clinic manager when 02 tank needs replacing.
Education:
High school diploma or GED required
Licensure:
Current CNA certification in the state of Louisiana
Skills:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
