We are currently seeking a Sr. VMware HCX Integration Engineer to join our team in Irving, Texas (US-TX), United States (US).

** Please note, the client’s main locations are in Dallas, TX and Charlotte, NC. We are looking for someone nearby these locations in order to be able to go onsite for client support as requested by client, so minimal travel is expected.

We are seeking a skilled Sr. VMware HCX Integration Engineer with strong experience in infrastructure migrations, virtualization technologies, and distributed computing environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise with HCX migration tools, VMware-based environments, hyper-converged infrastructure, and automation technologies. This role will support enterprise infrastructure modernization initiatives, cloud transformation projects, and platform migrations across complex environments.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and support infrastructure migration projects using VMware HCX and other migration tools.
  • Manage and maintain distributed compute environments including virtualization, server infrastructure, and converged/hyper-converged platforms.
  • Perform workload migrations with minimal downtime and operational impact.
  • Support and administer enterprise hypervisor platforms such as VMware, Nutanix, and container-based solutions.
  • Develop automation and scripting solutions to improve operational efficiency and infrastructure reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues across Windows and Linux environments.
  • Collaborate with architecture, engineering, and operations teams to deliver infrastructure transformation initiatives.
  • Contribute to documentation, operational standards, and best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of Technology Infrastructure Engineering and Solutions experience, demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military experience, or education.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with HCX migrations or other enterprise migration tools.
  • Must have Distributed Infrastructure and/or related IT Infrastructure experience.
  • Experience supporting Distributed Compute environments, including:
    • Virtualization Platforms
    • Server Infrastructure
    • Converged and Hyper-Converged Hosting Solutions
  • 3+ years of experience with enterprise hypervisors and platforms, including one or more:
    • VMware
    • Nutanix
    • OpenShift Containers
  • Experience with Red Hat OpenShift administration and container orchestration.
  • Scripting and automation experience (PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar).
  • Must have experience supporting:
    • Windows Server
    • Linux Operating Systems

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of infrastructure automation and Infrastructure-as-Code concepts.
  • Experience supporting enterprise datacenter modernization initiatives.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

 

 

Candidates must be within reasonable commuting distance of or able to relocate to Irving, TX or Charlotte, NC.

 

NTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for U.S.-based positions. The starting pay range for this role will depend on the location of the successful candidate.
