About the role

The Retail Business Manager is primarily responsible to act as a liaison between assigned Acosta business manager/Customers and NCP SOM(s).  They are responsible for representing Acosta and our principal through proactive management of specified retailer customers/territories; to include providing client with customer/brand selling ideas for retail execution, identifying actions to drive incremental sales volume and close opportunity gaps, and analyzing retail results to identify upstream opportunities. 

 

Some Essential Functions of this Position: 

  • Location: Midwest preferred but will consider East candidate 
  • Owning information needed for NRS activation, store lists, sell sheets, system updates (details TBD)  
  • Pro-actively communicate with principal. 
  • Assist Business Managers and multi-function resources (Marketing, Sales Technology, etc.) to communicate customer needs, objectives, and future plans to retail sales organization. 
  • Effectively and properly use technology including RW3, communication of retail priorities, and coverage analyses to have an effective feedback and measurement system. 
  • Able to work in client systems with a focus on client deadlines 
  • Perform special assignments as requested.

 

 

Minimal Education Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent work experience 

Experience Requirement: 

  • Prior food broker, retail and set responsibility experience required. 
  • Prior supervisory experience is required. 

Knowledge, Skill and Ability Requirements: 

  • Must possess strong interpersonal, organizational and sales skills. 
  • Must have the ability to effectively balance numerous and competing priorities 
  • Experience in client partnership lead by Business Manager Retail priority setting  
  • Customer expertise in all classes of trade helpful, but strength in wholesaler activation is a priority. 
  • Solid Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel 
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with others.  Must be able to operate a calculator, fax machine, telephone, paper cutter, copier, hammer screwdriver, drill, case cutter, hand truck, and pallet jack. 
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and must be able to travel for extended periods of time.
