About the role
The Performance Parts International Product Planning & Strategy role is responsible for shaping the long‑term global roadmap for performance components, accessories, and motorsports‑aligned products. This role blends deep automotive performance expertise with strategic analysis and international market awareness to ensure the brand’s performance portfolio meets customer expectations, regulatory requirements, and business objectives across all global regions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Global Performance Parts Strategy
- Develop multi‑year global strategy for performance components—including engines, suspension, drivetrain, tuning/calibration, appearance upgrades, crate performance packages, and motorsports products.
- Identify growth opportunities in enthusiast, racing, off‑road, and aftermarket segments.
- Map out international product lifecycle plans, including introductions, updates, and phase‑outs.
- Market Insight & Competitive Intelligence
- Analyze international performance aftermarket trends, enthusiast community insights, and motorsports influence.
- Benchmark global competitors: tuning brands, aftermarket suppliers, OE performance divisions, etc.
- Monitor regulatory changes—emissions, homologation, noise limits, and safety rules—impacting product viability for each region.
- International Portfolio Alignment
- Align product requirements across unique market needs: fuel types, regulations, motorsports rules, customer preferences, climate, and pricing sensitivity.
- Balance global platforms with localized performance part offerings.
- Product Roadmap & Feature Definition
- Create and maintain the global performance parts roadmap for Direct Connection.
- Define feature sets, performance targets, technical specifications, and competitive positioning.
- Work with engineering, motorsports, product development, and supply chain to evaluate feasibility and cost.
- Business Case & Financial Planning
- Build financial models covering demand forecasting, pricing strategy, volume planning, and profitability.
- Evaluate ROI for new performance part proposals, technology investments, and international expansion.
- Support budget planning for product development and motorsports‑adjacent programs.
- Cross‑Functional Leadership
- Lead North American Brand’s alignment with engineering, motorsports teams (if applicable), design, purchasing, manufacturing, marketing, and regional business units on performance parts.
- Support executive reviews, product gates, and decision‑making committees.
- Provide strategic documents, presentations, and competitive analyses for leadership.
- Launch & Market Support
- Support global launch planning, ensuring alignment on timelines, packaging, and messaging.
- Partner with marketing and brand teams to highlight performance differentiation and enthusiast‑focused positioning.
- Track early product performance, customer feedback, and adjust strategy as needed.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or related degree field
- 5 or more years in product planning, aftermarket/performance parts, motorsports, or automotive strategy
- Strong knowledge of performance vehicles, tuning, racing culture, and automotive systems
- Experience working with international markets or cross‑regional teams
- Analytical mindset with strong financial and market assessment skills
- Excellent communication and executive presentation abilities
