About the role

Inside the Role

Lead Air Intake Systems Design team, responsible for the specifications, design, packaging, and validation air the air intake system. Components include the air cleaner and pre-cleaners, air restriction gauge, breaking joint seal, inside/outside air, and the plumbing from the air cleaner to the turbo inlet. Key upcoming project is the development of a new air cleaner for PAR 47F, and customer support through several Quality topics.

Position offers a starting salary range of $117,000 - $150,000 USD 

Pay offered dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience​. What You Drive at DTNA

  • Current PAR work is focused on the new air cleaner and air intake systems in PAR 47F. This includes supporting supplier selection, component design and packaging, validation, specification development, and collaborating closely with hood, plenum, and HVAC Designers.

  • Work to support DSMs and customers on field issues and concerns, including several Quality topics on isolators and dust ingestion

  • Innovate and collaborate on future projects including complexity and cost optimization,  performance benchmarking, target setting, engine sign-off, NVH, and Quality improvements

  • Responsible for project management for assigned projects: scope, timelines, deliverables. Present status updates in TSMs or other forums when needed. Work proactively and independently and prioritize assignments consistent with business goals. Escalate when appropriate.

  • Design and validate safe, reliable, serviceable, and competitive designs

  • Collaborate well with partners: Design, DTMX, Manufacturing, After-Market, Purchasing, EPM, PVE, Service

  • Manage supplier projects and lead them in development and validation of components to DTNA specifications and per our DVP&R

  • Provide quality and timely solutions to production problems and field issues

  • Participate in implementation of cross-functional ideas to continuously improve work environment, systems, tools, and processes as well as product cost and quality

 

Knowledge You Should Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or related field, with 5-7 years of experience
  • Demonstrated CAD experience for design, drawings, or layout work
  • Experience with Engineering tools: Engineering Client, IMACS+, ERS+
  • Documentation experience: part release, charting, etc.
  • Demonstrated strong written, verbal, and presentation skills

 

Exceptional Candidates Might Have

  • Familiarity with CVDS deliverables and milestones
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis
  • Part manufacturing knowledge in plastics (injection, blow molding, etc), metal (casting, stampings) and rubber/isolator experience
  • Doorsnext experience
  • Air Filtration knowledge
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks at hand
  • Able to motivate self and others via collaboration and good team work skills
  • Willing to mentor interns or others and share knowledge/best practices
