About the role

The Associate Cloud Engineer supports the deployment, configuration, and day-to-day operation of cloud infrastructure in regulated healthcare environments while building foundational expertise in cloud technologies and operational best practices. Working under the guidance of senior engineers, this role assists with infrastructure automation, system monitoring, deployments, troubleshooting, and security configuration across cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS). The Associate Cloud Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to maintain reliable, secure, and scalable environments while documenting processes and continuously developing technical skills in cloud infrastructure, containerization, and infrastructure as code.

Associate Cloud Engineer Overview
The Associate Cloud Engineer supports the deployment, configuration, and day-to-day operation of cloud infrastructure in regulated healthcare environments while building foundational expertise in cloud technologies and operational best practices. Working under the guidance of senior engineers, this role assists with infrastructure automation, system monitoring, deployments, troubleshooting, and security configuration across cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS). The Associate Cloud Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to maintain reliable, secure, and scalable environments while documenting processes and continuously developing technical skills in cloud infrastructure, containerization, and infrastructure as code.

  • Assist with provisioning and configuring public cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or CloudFormation following established designs and procedures.

  • Support day-to-day operation of cloud services such as compute, storage, networking, and database platforms in Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure environments.

  • Execute routine operational tasks and monitoring activities using established runbooks, automation tools, and standard operating procedures.

  • Monitor system health, performance, and alerts using tools such as CloudWatch or Azure Monitor and escalate issues to senior engineers as appropriate.

  • Apply basic security controls such as Identity and Access Management (IAM), Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), and encryption configurations under guidance.

  • Assist with deployment and support of containerized workloads using technologies such as Docker, Amazon Elastic Container Service (ECS), or Kubernetes.
