Job Overview
- Parts Manager: Manage Purchasing activity for all LSPD Parts.
- Maintain quality of aftermarket parts
- OEM review and inspection of parts at Vendor site before shipment.
- Manage Field Service repairs and parts procurement.
- Manage Rebuild activity at vendor and customer’s sites.
- Track Sales/Profit Amount of Parts Activity targeted in each Fiscal Year
- Track SVM Ratio against to Sales amount targeted in each Fiscal Year
- Track Labor transfer hours worked.
- Control Policy Claim / Warranty Cost
- Control On Time Delivery
Key Job Responsibilities
- Manage parts activity, including but not limited to:
- Parts identification: Able to read and interpret assembly drawings, parts drawings
- Quotations & Profits: Calculate markup and track ongoing quotes and orders
- Purchase Order processing: Processing PO's and ensure vendors understand their responsibility
- On Time Delivery: On Time Delivery target is <90
- Understanding of manufacturing process of part
- Understanding of required parts quality.
- Understanding of inspection method and procedure. Target is 100% accuracy
- Safety is #1 priority with quality #2 behind safety
- Manager must visit vendors to check parts quality
- Answer questions and ensure vendors are clear and understand expectations
- Travel is estimated at 10% but can go to 30% at times as needed
- Project Managment (includes major repair work at vendor site and machine repair at customer site
- Plan scope of project
- Prepare BOM (Bill of Materials)
- Prepare Project Quote
- Coordinate necessary resources (Sub-contractors, parts, etc.)
- Organize and track PO activities between customer, Komatsu and vendors
- Supervise/perform the job at customer and/or vendor site
- Manage project and project costs
- Communicate with Komatsu Japan (in English but conscious of English skills and of Japanese staff
- Maintain blueprint database
- Maintain vendor database. Including evaluation of vendors on regular basis. This includes once a year quality audits with all major vendors
- Read and interpret blueprints (Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawing is mandatory, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic are a plus

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE - Engineering Degree or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence; ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY - Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
ABILITY TO UNDERSTAND TECHNICAL DRAWINGS/DIAGRAMS - Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings. Electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic drawings/diagrams are a plus.
