State Street Markets - Technical Program Manager, VP

Who we are looking for

Technical Program Manager to lead and manage cross functional teams to deliver complex technology programs at State Street Global Markets. We are looking for an experienced leader to drive several large and complex multi-year transformational initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory compliance. This is a user/client facing role with desire to work in a collaborative, team-driven environment with focus on project planning, risk management, resource allocation, vendor relationship management and stakeholder communication to achieve successful program outcomes.

This role requires solid financial knowledge in the sell side FX trading workflows along with strong analytical and interpersonal skills.. 

This role is based in Boston, MA, USA and will work with State Street business users from all regions

What you will be responsible for

As a Technical Program Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Work with internal business users and external clients to gather and understand user demands
• Develop and execute program plans, define scope, objectives and timelines
• Work with engineering, product and business stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful project delivery
• Identify and mitigate risks, develop contingency plans, and manage potential roadblocks
• Communicate program status, updates and potential issues to stakeholders
• Establish and maintain strong project governance processes, ensuring adherence to standards and best practices
• Effectively manage and communicate changes within the program, ensuring minimal disruption and continued project success
• Analyze program performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement data-driven optimization
• Possess a strong understanding of technology, industry-specific regulations, and financial market dynamics
• Manage and mentor cross-functional teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment
• Work closely with on-shore and off-shore team members. This includes other program/ project managers, business analysts, developers and QA personnel

Education & Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• 15+ years experience in Financial Services, specifically in Capital Markets systems
• Successful track record of delivering projects and programs using lightweight or agile approaches
• Strong knowledge and demonstrated use of testing methodologies and tools
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated strength in initiative-taking, leadership and influencing skills
• Ability to adapt quickly in a fast–growing and changing environment
• Experience front-office, middle-office and back-office workflows demonstrating knowledge of the full lifecycle of a trade. 
• Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle for iterative, agile, and traditional approaches. Experience with JIRA a strong plus.
• Team player, detail oriented and self-motivated to drive work to proceed with minimal supervision
• Multiple tasking ability. Good time organizational skills to manage project priorities
