Minimum Qualifications:
- Four (4) years of professional experience in fine art, folklore, ethnomusicology, history, anthropology, American studies, dance, design arts, drama, literature, music, performing arts, visual arts, or related field. A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in one of the fields listed can substitute for the required years of experience.
Preferences:
- Excellent organizational, research, interpersonal, and communication skills
- General familiarity with concepts such as folklife, traditional culture, and folk art
- Web page management and editing experience
- Knowledge of digital images, audio, and video file formats and organizational practices
- Familiarity with veterans’ communities and the military
- Experience in the administration of Facebook pages and general social media skills
- Photography and video skills
- Proficiency using the Microsoft (Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and Adobe (Acrobat, Illustrator, Photoshop, Reader) software suites

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assisting the Veterans’ History Program Coordinator and the State Folklorist in the administration of the Florida Folklife Program’s core annual programs and projects, including:
- The Folklife Area and the America 250 Stage at the Florida Folk Festival
- The annual fieldwork survey
- The Veterans’ History Program’s Statewide Tour
- The Florida Folklife Apprenticeship Program
- The Florida Folk Heritage Awards
- The annual fieldwork survey
- Public outreach programs
- Coordinating demonstrations and performances of folk artists at various public events, including assisting in their interpretation, presentation, and documentation (photography and video)
- Supporting the activities of and organizing meetings of the Florida Folklife Council
- Writing press releases, meeting notices, and formal correspondence
- Assisting with the administration of National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) grants
- Coordinating payments for apprenticeship teams, folk artists, and folklife demonstrators
- Conducting research to support Program needs and fulfill public information requests
- Performing other duties and completing special projects as needed (which may include creating public presentations, education content and lesson plans, writing promotional materials, editing publications, etc.)
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Experience working with the general public and responding to requests for information
- Customer service and/or public outreach experience
- Proficiency in Spanish and/or French
- Experience with flatbed scanning devices and software
- Familiarity with grant programs, solicitation, and administration
- Familiarity with archival procedures
- Experience organizing content for online presentations
