JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Penn State Psychological Clinic, a fully licensed comprehensive outpatient community mental health center, is seeking applicants for a full-time Staff Psychologist. Full Penn State benefits are included.
The Psychological Clinic provides psychological and psychiatric outpatient treatment and psychological and neuropsychological assessment for adults, families, adolescents, and children, as well as school- and community-based intervention programs.
The focus of the Staff Psychologist's clinical work will primarily be with children and adolescents. However, there may be opportunities to expand or shift focus to adults in the future, based on business needs.
The Staff Psychologist will be responsible for providing:
Individual and group psychotherapy for a broad range of clinical disorders in both short- and long-term treatment formats
Initial consultation, diagnostic assessment, and comprehensive psychological and/or neuropsychological evaluations for clients with a wide range of mental health, behavioral, emotional, and developmental concerns
Clinical resident instruction for the Psychology Training Program and Psychological Clinic including clinical supervision of graduate students and practicum instruction
The clinic is among the largest associated with a doctoral training program in the United States and serves as the training and research site for the Ph.D. program in Clinical Psychology.
Other primary responsibilities include collaborating with staff and other professionals to provide the best care possible for Clinic clients, completing all necessary clinical documentation in an accurate and timely manner, and performing all services according to relevant ethical and professional standards of care.
