Overview of the Role  

• We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented HR Intern to join our People Team, focusing on HR Information Systems (HRIS) maintenance and optimization. The HR Intern will play a key role in supporting the team through the recent transition to ADP Workforce Now. This internship will provide valuable hands-on experience in managing and supporting the day-to-day operations of our HRIS, assisting with data management, and system updates. 
• Location: Hybrid to Schaumburg, IL (in office 3 days/ week)
• Pay: $17-$18/ hourly 
• Duration: May - August

What You’ll Do at C.A. Carlin 

• HRIS Data Maintenance: Assist in updating and maintaining employee data in the HRIS (ADP Workforce Now), ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies. 
• Reporting & Analysis: Generate and analyze HR reports (e.g., employee records, attendance, payroll) using HRIS, helping People Team with data insights for decision-making. 
• Data Integrity & Audits: Participate in routine audits to verify data accuracy and identify discrepancies, working with People Team to resolve any issues. 
• System Updates & Configuration: Assist in HRIS system configuration and maintenance, including implementing software updates and enhancements as directed. 
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline and improve HRIS processes, contributing ideas to improve system efficiency. 
• User Training: Support the development and delivery of user guides or training materials for People Team members on new system functionalities or updates. 
• Documentation: Assist in documenting HRIS workflows, processes, and technical procedures for reference and training purposes. 
• Collaboration: Work closely with People Team, IT, and other teams to ensure smooth integration of HRIS with other systems and provide technical support as needed. 

What You Should Bring to the Table  

• Currently enrolled in or recent graduate from an accredited college or university. 
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. 
• Strong communication skills with the ability to assist non-technical users. 
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information. 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) or willing to accept training. 
• A proactive and problem-solving mindset.  

 

You Will Stand Out If You Have  

• Familiarity with HRIS platforms (e.g., ADP Workforce Now, Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, etc.) is a plus.
