About the role

 

how you will make an impact:

 • Identify, develop, and implement regulatory labeling compliance requirements for finished products, E-Filing, and compliance certificates.  Expertise in RSL Testing including updating testing protocols.

 • Benchmark product labeling compliance and regulatory programs and processes to ensure best practices are identified and leveraged appropriately across the Company.

 • Provide expertise to drive business in the development, implementation and integration of processes, procedures, training and tools necessary to ensure ongoing product labeling regulatory compliance and product risk management. 

• Participate in the development of product and compliance, including product labeling compliance management, regulatory applicability, etc.

 • Act as a SME to the business to ensure compliant supply chain, new product development and marketing processes are adhered to.

 • Monitor emerging issues in the areas of product labeling compliance, regulatory requirements and environmental product directives.

 • Review and verify product labeling compliance requirements are fulfilled for finished products.

 • Represent PI/Quality team as it relates to product labeling regulatory compliance by actively participating on new product development projects.

 • Assess and coordinate labeling compliance approval activities for finished products by collaborating with PI Manager on testing providing guidance to PD and HUB teams, suppliers and overseas business partners.

 • Propose new policies and administer existing product labeling compliance policies and standards.

 • Provide ongoing training, guidance and support and increasing organizational awareness of operational labeling compliance requirements as it relates to North America and Global regulatory compliance requirements.

 • Partner with cross-functional teams, in the proactive identification of key regulatory labeling compliance issues with the ability to determine actionable project proposals and drive them to successful resolution. 

 

what you bring to the team:

• Research, understand, and communicate safety and compliance requirements relating to current products, new product categories and expansion of sales to new regions globally.

 • Participate in product development projects to ensure that safety, regulatory and agency requirements are identified and satisfied in target markets (global).

 • Participate in formal Product Quality Risk Assessments to identify and quantify safety and compliance risks and develop mitigation plans.

 • Review and approve product labeling, packaging artwork, and instruction booklets to ensure safety and compliance requirements are met.

 • Support continuous improvement and cost savings projects by ensuring that product safety and compliance maintained.

 • Manage relationships with third-party agencies and test laboratories globally.

 • Monitor changes to regulatory and agency requirements, and initiate actions required to maintain compliance of active products.

 • Ensure that ongoing testing and compliance documentation updates for active products are planned and executed.

 • Ensure that records to support safety and compliance are maintained.

 • Lead the investigation and problem solving for safety or compliance issues.

 • Participate in industry associations, standards development, and rulemaking as appropriate.

 • Lead the function by developing strategies and processes to assure safety and compliance and providing leadership and direction both within the team and cross-functionally.

 • Provide training and career development support to Product Safety Specialist(s) with communication and feedback to encourage a motivated and engaged team.

 • Develop and deliver training to cross-functional teams on topics related to safety & compliance.

 • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, evaluating work processes and external relationships to identify and implement changes to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.

 • Assist with developing budgets and monitoring/reporting costs related to testing and agency fees. 

 

Where You’ll Work and What’s required:

• Ability to travel up to 35% of the time for partner meetings, events, and other related activities.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science (Chemical, Material preferred).

 • 3 -5 years of management experience.

 • 5 -10 years of experience in assuring product compliance with regulatory requirements.

 • Experience working with global regulatory agency requirements such as EPA, UL, ETL, FDA, TUV, NOM, FDA, FCC, EU REACH, EU RoHS & FTC.

 • Experience with safety agency testing and maintenance of listing files.
