Position Summary
Under the general supervision of the Operations Manager and Executive Director of Operations, this position includes supervising and performing a variety of duties that require independent judgement with ingenuity and initiative. Assumes responsibility for designated areas, workflow or tasks as required.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for assigning, coaching, counseling, disciplining employees, and communicating job expectations.
- Provide input to senior leadership regarding employee job performance, morale, staffing, work methods, procedures, related personnel matters, and equipment performance.
- Meet imaging operational standards by contributing information to strategic plans to ensure productivity, quality, patient-service standards, resolve problems, and identify system improvements.
- Work collaboratively to implement and sustain change associated with process improvement standards.
- Review staffing for appropriate coverage and resource management. Responsible for control of overtime and thorough documentation of over utilization.
- Maintain and control use of equipment and supplies to ensure that resources are used in a responsible manner.
- Responsible for handling and/or providing input to the Operations Manager technical problems within or related to the various diagnostic imaging modalities within the center.
- Oversee and coordinate equipment maintenance to ensure equipment is operating properly and providing reliable and accurate diagnostic. Provide immediate input to the Operations Manager on all related issues.
- Understand and implement Radiology Associates of Hartford’s policies and procedures.
- Encourage and support employees to promote high level of morale and productivity.
- Act as a liaison between organization, patients, and referrals to ensure open communication with staff at management meetings, problem-solving sessions, and participates in task forces.
- Responsible for all safety related issues in assigned areas of supervision, including but not limited to, radiation, occupational exposure controls, chemical, electrical, mechanical, etc. Interpret rules and regulations where applications to those personnel assigned.
- Maintain patient care standards within the facility to ensure reliable and accurate exams and quality patient treatment via direct contact with staff and personal hands-on care.
- Contribute to and maintain good working rapport with all patients, personnel, and radiologists/physicians to assure that the organization's objectives can effectively meet the needs of patients and providers.
- Maintain confidentiality of all classified and sensitive information and records, including all protected health information.
- Report all unsafe/hazardous conditions, defective equipment, etc. to supervisor immediately.
- Assure that assigned work areas are maintained in a neat, safe, clean, and orderly fashion.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Knowledge & Skill Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- CPR Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Minimum of 1 year radiology experience required.
- Supervisory or management experience preferred.
- Ability to handle stressful and emergent situations with a calm and rational demeanor.
