DMS Tufting Operator

Location: LaGrange, GA, US

Job Summary:

 

This position is located at the Milliken Duncan M Stewart site in LaGrange, GA. The production team members report to the Production Manager. 

 

What We Are Looking For:

 

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred not required
  • Manufacturing experience is preferred 
  • Must function effectively both independently and in a team environment
  • Positive attitude & good work ethic
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and strong ability to multitask
  • Ability to have reliable and predictable attendance
  • Basic mathematical, reading, and communication skills
  • Good hand eye coordination
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including  shifts of 8-12 hours in duration
  • Must be able to stand for long periods
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. when performing specific job tasks
  • Ability to work weekends and overtime as required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

What You’ll Do As A Sr. Machine Operator:

 

The Tufting Operator follows all prescribed safety procedures and standard work instructions. The operator starts, stops, and locks out machine as necessary. Maintains all necessary documentation (blue book and operator performance sheet).  Watches for quality issues and corrects, repairs, and mends issues.  Doffs rolls. Works with material handler to change backing. Required to creel as needed.  The Operator can properly change tufting needles, knives and loopers.  Communicates quality or machine issues to proper party.

 

  • Follow all safety rules.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment – to be observed according to plant rules for the area the associate is located
  • Participate in safety meet
