Job Description
Responsibilities:
- The Financial Analyst is a key player on the Operations & Technology (O&T) finance team responsible for operating expenses and headcount for the Rockefeller Center Operations (RCO) Guest Experiences and Creative groups, Telemundo Facilities and capital cash flow forecasting.
- The RCO group is a dynamic area of the company supporting key areas that impact all brands and levels of staff throughout the NBCUniversal New York & New Jersey campuses. These groups include Guest Experiences, Creative, Facilities, Project Management, and Production.
- This role provides the unique opportunity to gain a solid understanding of NBCU operations through daily exposure/interaction with O&T operational teams as well as the greater NBCU finance organization. The role’s responsibilities include:
Position overview
- Create, update, and maintain operating models to assist with monthly forecasting, budgeting, and reporting
- Assist in the P&L planning processes for all estimates, budgets, and long-range plans (LRP) in relation to Guest Experiences (The Shop, The Tour, and Audience Services), Telemundo Facilities, and Creative groups
- Work with operators on revenue modeling, headcount management, and scenario planning
- Support team on invoicing, vendor relations, and expense tracking
- Perform P&L analysis to identify areas of risk and opportunity and to assist in summarizing performance for key decision making
- Assist in internal reporting – headcount, close packages, pacings
- Act as liaison with Accounts Payable team by resolving vendor set up and payment issues, researching payment information and status
- Support monthly, quarterly and annual close process, i.e. perform journal entries, calculate expense accruals, and take lead to ensure all expenses are captured and stated properly
- Partner with operators to forecast for operational changes as information arises and ensure spending aligns with budget parameters
- Participate in regular business meetings and strategic projects through PowerPoint creation, maintenance/improvement of files, and accurate record keeping through tracking key decisions, follow ups, deliverables, and task ownership
- Prepare and review manual journal entries and reporting related to weekly/monthly revenue, COGS, royalties, and liquidations
- Drive capital project cash performance through actively monitoring and reviewing POs, invoicing, and account payables cycles
- Maintain C&B and headcount changes across operational P&Ls
- Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed
- Evaluate and implement ways to drive automation, standardization, and simplification across all areas
- Process and analyze all the necessary reports in software tools including SAP, BW, Essbase, AOE, SNAP (AP tool), Purchase Manager (PO tool), and Concur (T&E)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- 1-2 years of experience in Finance
- Must be proficient with MS Office Suite products – particularly advanced excel skills (comfortable with v-lookups, if statements, pivot tables, etc.)
