Our component parts include the Business Intelligence/Data Warehouse Team, the Analytics/Data Science Team, the PeopleSoft & Salesforce Team, and the myUMBC/Campus Information Portal Team.

Position Overview:

A senior-level developer specializing in HR systems plays a pivotal role in a university’s Division of Information Technology by ensuring seamless management of complex human resources functions. UMBC currently relies on the Peoplesoft Human Capital Management (HCM) administrative system used by campus faculty, staff, and students to maintain job/position records, process payroll , record time and absence management, maintain benefits administration, and comply with employment regulations. A senior developer provides the technical expertise necessary to maintain and enhance these systems, ensuring they integrate smoothly with other institutional platforms and state agencies while also continually adapting to evolving policies and technological advancements. Their work directly supports operational efficiency, data security, and the user experience for HR staff, faculty, and student employees. Without this expertise, system functionality can suffer, leading to inefficiencies, compliance risks, and increased dependence on external contractors, which can be costly and inconsistent.
