POSITION SUMMARY
The Marketing Manager is a dynamic, results-driven leader responsible for developing and executing strategic marketing campaigns that drive ticket sales, program registrations, and overall audience engagement. Reporting to the Senior Director, this role ensures campaigns are integrated across all channels and delivered on strategy, on time, and within budget.
Key responsibilities include overseeing social media efforts, with direct supervision of the Associate Manager of Social, and serving as the primary point of contact for internal departments and external partners. The Marketing Manager works closely with stakeholders to understand business objectives and translate them into effective marketing solutions. This individual thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, leveraging audience data, coordinating cross-departmental efforts, and managing external relationships to ensure successful campaign execution.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Campaign Strategy & Management
• Develop and execute comprehensive marketing plans for performances, education classes, and camps.
• Manage marketing calendars to ensure a timely rollout of campaigns.
• Develop promotional schedules and coordinate the integration of email marketing, digital marketing, media plans, social, and content strategy.
• Oversee organic social media strategy and execution
• Collaborate with and provide strategic direction (creative and campaign briefs) to graphic designers, videographers, and copywriters to create compelling campaign assets.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams to obtain in-depth expertise of partner needs, business insights and market trends to create effective marketing programs
• Partner with departments including Programming, Box Office, Development, Education, and Production to align promotions, messaging, and timelines.
• Oversee the creation of all marketing materials, tactics, and content for their campaigns.
• Communicate relevant and timely information to appropriate stakeholders/teams ensuring project success. Provide insight to various people/teams that helps “connect the dots.”
• Programming Liaison for Marketing, building & strengthening relationships with external Co-Pro partners.
• In partnership with Project Management, schedule and conduct weekly meetings with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment, foster collaboration, share key insights and guide strategic discussions about the business. Responsible for agenda, notes, action items & next steps for project accountability.
Ticket Sales & Program Enrollment
• Collaborate with presenters, co-promoters, and show contacts to develop and implement joint marketing strategies that drive ticket sales.
• Identify and pursue strategies to expand audience reach and diversify program participants.
• Monitor sales trends and adjust strategies as needed to meet revenue targets.
Audience Analysis & Reporting
• Conduct ticket purchase analysis to understand consumer behavior and inform decision-making.
• Leverage data and analytics resources to develop actionable insights (DOMO, Claritas, etc.)
• Coordinate departmental campaign performance and metrics tracking and reporting.
Social Media Strategy
• Oversee the organization’s social media strategy across platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, LinkedIn).
• Lead content planning in alignment with overall marketing goals, audience development, and brand voice.
• Provide creative and strategic guidance to Social Media Associate for day-to-day content creation, publishing, and engagement.
• Stay informed on industry and platform changes to keep our social media presence fresh, relevant, and effective.
Other
• Partner with Project Management to ensure the delivery of all creative jobs within the determined timeframe. Stay abreast of project deadlines and provide updates to stakeholders.
• Follow and support all operational policies and procedures. Assimilate into the arts center culture through understanding, supporting and demonstrating the core values.
• Maintain a professional and friendly relationship with other departments, colleagues, and partners.
• Able to remain calm under pressure. Ability to work effectively with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy. Maintain Dr. Phillips Center standards of customer service at all times.
• Able to effectively communicate in English in both written and oral forms.
