Global Trade Compliance Intern

Summary

CHS has an exciting internship opportunity within the Global Grain & Processing Supply Chain team. We are looking for a Global Trade Compliance Intern to work with a variety of teams to analyze compliance issues and opportunities encountered by CHS globally. You must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be detail oriented and flexible with strong problem-solving ability and ability to prioritize assigned duties and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Manage externally provided data flows into a centralized Data Lake for further analysis.
• Actively engage with third party Customs Brokers (US & Canada).
• Collaborate with internal Trade Execution, Logistics, Order Management, and Continuous Improvement teams to ensure consistent compliance data coverage.
• Assist with SAP GTS implementation and testing.
• Investigate and analyze new technologies for future utilization. 
• Research local, state, federal, and international agricultural requirements

Minimum Qualifications (required)

• Currently enrolled in an Agriculture, Logistics/Supply Chain, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Business Administration, or similar degree program at an accredited institution, entering junior or senior year, or recent graduate.
• Desire to further understand international supply chains and the importance of compliance.
• Maintain a curious mindset while embracing rigid trade regulations.

Additional Qualifications

• Advanced working knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite of products, including but not limited to, excel and Power BI.
• Ability to work well in a team environment; develop and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers.
• Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail and ability to prioritize workload.
• Capacity to think and solve problems independently within a changing environment while being customer focused and building solid relationships.
• Strong interpersonal and business communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to manage time effectively, make decisions and work independently within a team atmosphere.
