The Lee’s Summit Distribution Center (DC) Operations Manager is a member of the Warehouse Team leading all aspects of the building operations. This role primarily focuses on overseeing the day-to-day and weekly execution of all aspects of the inbound and outbound operations to support the DC. In this role the expectation is that strong leadership qualities are demonstrated, and the highest level of continuous improvement is implemented. The Operations Manager must be detail and process-oriented, have a bias for action, and can simultaneously facilitate multiple priorities and processes at the Mid-States DC. The DC Operations Manager would report directly to the Director of Warehouse Operations.
The ideal candidate maintains a high standard of professionalism, is technically proficient, mentors others, leads by example in all facets of the role, is an effective communicator, demonstrates strong computer and analytical abilities, and possesses the aptitude to learn new systems and processes quickly.
What You Will Do:
- Embody Mid-States core values (i.e. make decisions with values as a guide).
- Cultivate, foster, and protect Mid-States company culture.
- Oversee the planning, staffing, and execution of all inbound and outbound functions.
- Manage all aspects of the inbound operation from timely receipts to inventory storage.
- Manage all aspects of the outbound operation from timely picking to expedited shipments.
- Resolve all outbound issues through coordination with planning teams and inventory control.
- Exhibit resilience and a positive attitude .
- Adapt positively to pressure, setbacks, challenges and change in order to achieve and sustain peak effectiveness.
- Accomplish warehouse operations through recruitment, selection, training, and coaching of Mid-States team members.
- Manage team members by appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining associates, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Prepares work schedules and reacts quickly and effectively regarding unexpected labor needs.
- Develop and foster an atmosphere of high employee morale through an active, fair, and consistent implementation of policies and procedures.
- Work closely with the management team to develop and implement short and long-term strategies and help build and promote a strong teamwork environment in all areas.
- Provide high level of quality standards throughout facility.
- Support the safety program to ensure compliance with policies and regulatory requirements. Maintain a safe working environment for all team members.
- Operate MHE equipment: forklift, turret truck, rider pallet jacks, hand jack, and other MHE as necessary.
- Performs other duties as assigned including duties outside normal responsibilities as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, COMPETENCIES, AND EXPERIENCE:
Experience and Requirements:
- At least 10+ years of experience in a leadership role
- At least 5 year
