Position Overview

The Novelis Greensboro team is seeking a Storeroom Leader. This position is accountable for the MRO materials data management, inventory accuracy and general responsibilities for daily operations of Stores, including leading storeroom employees. This position reports to the site EMRA Leader.

Responsibilities:

  • Always maintain Storeroom to an “inspection ready” level, promote and conduct good housekeeping practices.
  • Ensure appropriate follow up with internal and external customers.
  • Seek to continuously improve processes, systems, and overall customer satisfaction.
  • Support the strategic vision of the Regional Reliability Stores Leader, which includes reducing safety risks, optimizing inventory, and developing staff.
  • Promote EHS policy, implement the EHS management system and ensure continual improvement of EHS performance in day-to-day operations.
  • Ensure the overall data management of the storeroom, VMI areas, and the SAP inventory system are valid and accurate.
  • Understand the plant and plant operations, lead times, and material cost to accurately maintain inventory minimum and maximum levels.
  • Keep track of what equipment in the plant is in operation and which has been taken out of operation to identify and maintain obsolete parts.
  • Determine the criticality of spare parts of to maintain the adequate level of criticality for all spare parts and operations materials.
  • Lead all aspects of the re-order process to ensure items are in-stock as needed.
  • Stock Item Addition - Ensure new stock additions follow the appropriate approval process and are correctly added in SAP via Struxture.
  • Cycle Counting - Support the Cycle Counting Process per schedule ensuring inventory accuracy reported by net adjustments for on hand quantity and dollar value. (600 items / month.)
  • Receiving/Issuing Goods - Quality control to ensure accuracy in materials received and issued.
  • Support the Material Receiving process. Ensure that received materials have Purchase order, Requestor, SAP Inventory number, received quantity matches ordered quantity, received material matches ordered material.
  • Support the Material Issuing process. Ensure that all issued materials have a stores' ticket listing basic requirements (SAP #, Quantity, description, Department, Date etc.)
  • Support the completion of daily audit for all issued and received materials, including a manual count of all material compared to SAP inventory levels and using the Inventory adjustment process to correct discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with Vendors and other NNA locations to secure necessary parts and materials requested by EMRA, OPS, and PROCESS groups on an emergency and after hour basis.
  • Manage Return to Vendor Process

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • Knowledge of EHS standards to safely store materials to prevent accident, injury, damage, and other hazards.
  • Basic knowledge of plants process
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) skills; ability to connect with all levels in the organization.
  • Ability to learn and become proficient in all software and web-based applications as required.
  • Strong familiarity with MRO commodities, MRO inventory management and inventory computer system such as SAP and/or Maximo
  • Must be flexible and able to operate in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Have an above average understanding of software applications, including SAP, to locate information related to parts and materials in inventory.
  • Technical resource on parts and labeling, necessary when “sight” shopping and when performing searches through SAP to ensure the correct identification of parts that are issued.
