About the role

The Paediatric Inpatient Ward is a specialised unit that cares for children ranging from infants to adolescents who require medical treatment, observation, or surgical care. With a capacity of 34 beds, the ward is designed to provide acute care for a variety of paediatric conditions, including but not limited to respiratory issues, infections, surgical recovery, and chronic illness management.

The Role:

  • Strengthens health outcomes through the provision of safe quality, clinically appropriate nursing care in partnership with patients/clients, their families and other health professionals

You will need 

  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with children, their families, and other healthcare providers.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams, including paediatricians, physiotherapists, dietitians, and social workers.

Details of appointment:

Permanent, part time, shift worker (fully rotational) position, working up to 71 hours per fortnight, commencing from as soon as you can join the team.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary: $78,179 to $105,995 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

Access to the Grade 4 salary range $99,455- $105,995 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qualification type

Eligibility:

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria

  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse

  • Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration
