The Team:

You are part of the larger Enterprise Strategy & Planning Team.  Specifically, this role focuses on our S&P Global Commodity Insights business.  Commodity Insights powers decisions that transform trade. From the shift towards sustainability to unpredictable supply chains and geopolitical influences, CI provide insights needed to clarify uncertainties and drive informed decisions for a resilient future.  As part of a larger enterprise team, you will have complementary talent to support your success.

Commodity Insights is an independent provider of information and benchmark prices for the commodities and energy markets. Customers in over 150 countries look to our expertise in news, pricing and analytics to deliver greater transparency and efficiency to markets.


Responsibilities and Impact:

You will support the execution of strategic objectives, prepare key presentations for internal and external stakeholders, process optimization and delve into required reporting and analysis.  This is a highly visible role with access to senior leaders across the business.  You will participate in driving business process excellence, streamlined reporting.

  • Develop a strong understanding of Commodity Insights’ strategic objectives and operations

  • Designs and executes strategic projects, formulating strategic recommendations and obtaining stakeholder buy-in.

  • Prepare and organize content for internal and external senior engagements, including speeches, briefings, PowerPoint presentations, and Excel analysis’ – ensuring output expresses complex ideas and analysis in simple, compelling ways to junior and senior audiences

  • Leads projects and develops recommendations that support the business/enterprise strategy and key growth objectives, working with the Sr. Director to plan and implement recommendations.

  • Partner with Communications team on internal and external tasks (e.g., Press Releases, Organizational Announcements, Media, etc.)

  • Interact with project sponsors, business stakeholders and peers within and across the Partner with Enterprise Strategy colleagues in the development of competitive intelligence.

Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $120,456 to $207,939. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan. This role is not eligible for additional compensation such as an annual incentive bonus or sales commission plan.

What We’re Looking For:

An ambitious, self-starter who can deliver high-quality results in a time-sensitive environment. This individual should be a strategic and innovative thinker with exceptional analytical and communication skills that can support and interpret complex tasks and concepts.

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate Degree required (concentration in Business or MBA a plus)

  • 6+ years' experience, ideally in financial information industry, management consulting or corporate development.

  • Highly proficient skills in MS Excel and PowerPoint (additional BI tools a plus; Tableau, PowerBI, Salesforce)

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (speech writing experience a plus)

  • Ability to synthesize complex market and competitive information across multiple businesses.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic understanding of energy and commodity markets and knowledge of Commodity Insights products & services

  • Proven ability to navigate effectively and efficiently within a large matrixed organization

  • Very high standards of quality, accuracy and timeliness
