VMD’s mission is to perform operations and maintenance/decommissioning & modernization activities over legacy websites to support ongoing operations and the modernization of its website governance, architecture, and design. Your Impact to the Mission:
VMD has an exciting opportunity for you to join as a Business Analyst working out of our Arlington, VA office. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to:
- Perform process reviews conducts analyses identifies procedural and control deficiencies
- Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirement workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis, conducts testing
- Assess business needs/issues, gathers and defines business application requirements, and writes effective and detailed business and system design requirements
- Proactively communicate and collaborate with users and stakeholders to analyze information needs and functional requirements
- Deliver the following artifacts when needed: Business Requirements, Functional Requirements, User Stories, Use Cases, GUI Screen and Interface Designs, Traceability Matrix, and Task Reports
- Be the liaison between the business units, technology, and support teams
- Work under direction of project managers to support project deliverable completion and delivery
- Maintain awareness of task deadlines for requirement and test deliverables
- Balance customer scope expectations with application effectiveness
- 2 plus years of Business Analysis experience, working on software products
- Strong ability to create and update, epics and user stories
- Innate capacity for initiative, learning, and highly inquisitive nature
- Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle and Agile methodologies
- Knowledge of business and requirements concepts
- Knowledge of business research principles, processes, and techniques
- Excellent written and oral communication skills using Microsoft Office
- Software development requirements analysis and testing experience
- Experience using Unqork is a plus
- Department of State or Bureau of Consular Affairs experience is a plus
- Education Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
- Can Additional Years of Experience Substitute for Degree? Yes
- Desired Certification(s): Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO)
- Minimum Years of Overall Experience: 2
- Minimum Years of Specific Experience in Field: 2
