Job Summary

 

Reporting to the Vice President of Operations and working with local production teams; the Senior Electrical Technician researches, plans, designs, develops, troubleshoots, and conducts tests on electronic cables/harnesses, production software, programmable logic controls (PLC), and mechanical assemblies and/or systems. Other responsibilities include the design of test control apparatus and equipment, evaluation of operational systems, and recommendation of design modifications to eliminate causes of malfunctions or changes in system requirements. Direct and coordinate activities which include design, manufacture, and test electronic, and failure analysis as required.

 

Job Location

 

This is a remote role base in Florida. 

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Assist and train local maintenance teams at plants throughout Florida, Alabama, and Mississippi
    • Troubleshooting manufacturing equipment
    • Supervise, review, and assist as needed for manufacturing equipment electrical upgrades, and layout changes
  • Work with local teams as needed on Capex projects
    • Review project proposals, review timelines, and Identify equipment and connections points for electricians
  • Troubleshoot and help with commissioning of new equipment
  • Other duties may be assigned

 

Job Requirements

 

  • Ability to travel up to 70% of the time (2-5 days a week) 
  • Experience working with equipment in an industrial manufacturing setting (mechanical & electrical)
  • Some level of teaching or training experience
  • Identify basic principles of electricity, Ohm's law, Equipment Testing, Electrical Safety
  • Basic knowledge of OSHA and NFPA 70E standards
  • Able to read and understand electrical schematics and blueprints
  • Teach and coach the three hazards of electricity - shock, arc, and blast
  • Understand safety signs and guarding of energized parts
  • Expert knowledge of the following; 480-volt systems, electric motors, light curtains, photo eyes, proximity switches, motor starters, relay contactors
  • Troubleshooting PLCs; Siemens and Allen Bradley preferred
