Job Description
Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. is seeking an entry level Jr. Operations Specialist to join our Treasury Operations Department in New York City. The role requires someone who will be able to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and communicate effectively. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and have a collaborative mindset to work as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
- Scan checks into the remote check deposit online system
- Handle manual check deposits and issuances, including petty cash and official bank checks
- Print, cancel, and disburse Opco Checks (FINET customer checks)
- Handle internal and external check and wire inquiries and investigations
- Prepare monthly retention documents
- Prepare the daily bank control sheet (detailing the total wire report), fed sheets, account reconciliations and research account differences
- Input firm wires into various online bank systems
- File and retrieve daily assignments
- Comply with section policies, procedures and escalation protocols
- Work independently and cooperatively with other members of the Treasury team
- Participate in Ad Hoc functions and tasks assigned
- Primary function:
- Input OPY Credit Corp daily wires
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/ College preferred
- 2-5 years of cash management assistant experience
- Financial Services experience a plus
- Possess a high degree of proficiency with technology including MS Office products (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Must demonstrate strong accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail in all facets of daily work
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a necessity
- A desire to grow, both within the department and professionally/developmentally
- Able to interface and articulate well with all levels of employees, including management, in a highly professional, timely and friendly manner
Compensation:
For job postings in New York City, Oppenheimer is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role. This salary range is specific to the City of New York and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making salary decisions including but not limited to your skills, qualifications, experience, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The current base salary offered for this role is $55,000.00 per year. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as discretionary bonus.
