Job introduction:
The Risk Intake and Operations Enablement (RIOE) portfolio within the Global Risk Solutions (GRS) Distribution and Underwriting organization is seeking a Senior Salesforce Software Engineer to join our team. The team owns platform support for five GRS Salesforce orgs and operates the Salesforce Center of Excellence, establishing guardrails and best practices and governing change through a Salesforce Review Board.
In this role, you will help transform Salesforce from siloed systems into a strategic, global platform that empowers the business to launch products, scale operations, and deliver exceptional experiences quickly and reliably. You will collaborate across multiple Salesforce orgs, establishing best practices and promoting standardization and reusability throughout the Salesforce organizations.
Rather than developing isolated solutions, you will research, architect, and implement scalable capabilities, influence DevOps processes, and enable teams worldwide. Your contributions will be critical in unifying Salesforce into a strategic global platform, elevating it beyond a collection of local tools to a core business enabler.
About the job:
- Collaborate effectively within an Agile team alongside the Product Owner, Scrum Master, and other team members.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build and maintain scalable, reusable Salesforce solutions across multiple orgs.
- Develop and promote best practices, standardization, and governance for global Salesforce implementations.
- Influence DevOps processes and enable continuous improvement of Salesforce deployment and management.
- Identify and advocate for the adoption of reusable platform capabilities.
- Champion and maximize the use of Salesforce’s out-of-the-box capabilities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and limit custom development where possible.
- Prioritize understanding and applying the principles of engineering excellence in your work.
- Write clean, maintainable, reusable code according to the team's standards, continuously seeking improvements to coding practices.
- Own, scope, and deliver well-defined deliverables or user stories, providing regular progress updates during stand-ups and other agile ceremonies.
- Develop and maintain software products that conform to established specifications and meet GRS Salesforce quality standards and guardrails.
- Support, monitor, and maintain production-grade systems using observability tools and address issues as they arise.
- Work closely with both technical and non-technical teams to achieve optimal solutions that maximize customer value.
- Foster a culture of code quality by implementing automated unit and integration testing within the software development lifecycle. Apply security best practices, including threat modeling, to your code.
- Enhance your knowledge of architecture, modern engineering principles, and design patterns.
- Implement your team's approach to delivering high-quality, tested code while maintaining and improving CI/CD pipelines. Participate in code reviews and actively review pull requests from team members.
- Produce technical specifications and other documentation as required for development solutions.
- Maintain strong working relationships with colleagues, vendors, and customers.
- Mentoring and coaching team members as well as other teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in technical or business discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Must have 5+ years’ experience developing and designing Salesforce capabilities (Sales Cloud and Service Cloud Required)
- Experience with object-oriented programming, Apex, Lightning Web Components, JavaScript, Process Builder/Flow, and SFDX
