The National Consulting Practice (NCP) provides consulting services to a diverse portfolio of clients including Managed Care Organizations, Medicaid and Medicare health plans, state and governmental health-related agencies, health care companies and providers, private equity firms, and health-related trade associations. They help these clients navigate opportunities to secure Medicaid program contracts and strengthen their Medicaid operations and financial performance.  Our teams work together to ensure client focused solutions that result in successful outcomes. 


About the Role


Sellers Dorsey is seeking a Senior Consultant for the work of the Child and Family Wellbeing division within National Consulting Practice (NCP) at Sellers Dorsey.  The ideal candidate will be proactive in seeking ways to help and grow the division and will possess interest and expertise in the field, strong analytical and facilitation skills, and the ability to communicate an array of complex ideas effectively.


Key Responsibilities

  • Divisional Growth and Success.  Supports the Senior and Associate Directors in carrying out the overall functions of the Child and Family Wellbeing division within NCP including, but not limited to supporting proposal and business development; internal and external coordination, meeting facilitation and execution of client plans, supporting client engagements and deliverables and general support of any activities that are key to the growth and success of the division.   
  • Content Development and Deployment.  Works alongside the Senior Director and Associate Directors to produce content for selected internal and external marketing tools, such as Firm newsletters, conference presentations, website content, social media, policy papers, blogs, webinars and other idea that highlight the divisions capabilities and subject matter expertise.  And seeks opportunities to build relationships and to promote our knowledge, skills and abilities to support child and wellbeing initiatives. 
  • Staying on the Forefront of Policy, research and trends. Helps the division remain on the forefront of policy and practice.  Stays up to date with industry news and seeks opportunities for Sellers Dorsey and our clients.  And, facilitates coordination and information gathering and sharing across Sellers Dorsey teams and with clients and other partners, particularly related to state and federal policies, regulation, industry news and trends.
  • Synthesizing Policy and Practice.  Enhance divisional awareness and understanding of industry news and trends.  Produce written materials such as presentations, policy papers, landscape and policy/funding analysis, customized templates for clients and project, and summaries of Federal, state and other opportunities for Child and Family Wellbeing division and/or our clients. 
  • Client and Project support. This position will provide general support and help in various ways to support the team, an engagement and/or progress client sales and services.   
  • Other duties as assigned per the Senior Director.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, required. 
  • 5+ years of experience within the health and human services, or related, system.
  • Experience with the child and family wellbeing system required.
  • Strong experience with healthcare policies.
  • Strong knowledge of health and human services and it’s federal, state and local policy and funding drivers. 
  • Demonstrated experience working as part of a team handling complex and multi-faceted projects is required. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required. 
  • Strong facilitation skills, comfort with public speaking and networking.
