MBRDNA is headquartered in Silicon Valley, California, with key areas of Autonomous Driving, Advanced Interaction Design, Digital User Experience, Machine Learning, Customer Research, and Open Innovation. In Farmington Hills, Michigan, the focus is on Powertrain and eDrive technology as well as in Long Beach, where the teams test durability of the latest driver assistant and telematic systems. The Digital Hub in Seattle focusses on developing a cloud architecture and building out the cloud platform for the next generation of connected car services. The Testing and Regulatory Affairs Division in Ann Arbor and the Advanced Vehicle Design in Carlsbad complete the competence center.
The MBRDNA Autonomous Driving Team is looking for motivated and passionate engineers who will help to integrate our ADAS software package into Mercedes-Benz vehicles. Our Team is working with global teams and partners to create SW Packages that can be rolled out to a large fleet of development vehicles all over the world. This Team is responsible for providing development and pre-production vehicles. Furthermore, we are supporting the pre-production vehicle phase until the products reach the end-customer.
As a technical lead, your role is to define an agile and dynamic daily plan, understand the technical details, signal chains, and track daily progress. You work with our local teams and partners, and it is your responsibility to handover relevant information to our teams in other locations in the world. We expect you to lead and coordinate troubleshooting and to drive problems to closure. Also, you are responsible for steering and directing our tooling team. We want your contribution to the strategic mid- and long-term planning of the department to be prepared for future challenges.

Job Responsibilities:
- Organize and coordinate daily plan and tackle complex integration problems hands-on
- Steer the team to focus on topics that align with the project status and strategy.
- System debugging during integration and deployment of interfaces and connections (Ethernet, SW Interfaces, Sensor connections)
- Lead root cause analysis across complex signal chain.
- Collaboration with international development teams and other external and internal partners to increase working efficiency.
- Contribute to strategic planning and critical discussion about timelines.
- Awareness of current project status on technical level and ability to report to upper management.
- Ability to understand priorities and steer the team to focus on most relevant topics.
- Develop technical understanding of signal architecture between ECUs.
- Develop technical understanding of SW Architecture within ADAS ECU.
- Participate in test drives to experience our product firsthand to understand current problems.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Degree plus minimum years of experience requirement: Bachelors + 7 yrs / Masters + 5 yrs/ PhD + 2 yrs
- Degree in Computer Science, Automotive Engineering, Physics, Electric or related fields
- Experience in ADAS Development and knowledge about state-of-the-Art L2 and L2+ ADAS functions
- Advanced coding skills in console application script languages (Python, bash, ansible, bazel, …)
- Advanced analytical problem-solving skills, ability to identify and surface issues within complex hardware/software systems.
- Experience with E/E integration and signal tracing as well as automotive communication protocols (CAN, FlexRay, Ethernet, MOST)
- Knowledge about ADAS sensors like Camera, Radar and Lidar
- Experience with tools to debug automotive interfaces (e.g. Vector Tools, CANoe)
- Effective communication skills, ability to formulate thoughts and ideas precisely in verbal and written form
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment with changing boundary conditions
- Prior experience in project coordination, planning and tracking tasks
- International travel is required, especially to Germany
- Valid Drivers License
