About the role

Job Summary


Responsible for working in support of Quality Inventory Control Coordinator performing, organizing and directing personnel in various inventory control related processes including but not limited to product identification, cycle counting, order fulfillment resolution and data collection. Acts as a backup in the absence of the department Coordinator.  Minimal Supervision Required.
 

Essential Functions & Accountabilities

  • Acts as a resource and trainer regarding current and developing processes and procedures within the Quality Inventory Control department. 
  • Maintains an ongoing understanding of current Quality Inventory control procedures.
  • Supports inventory accuracy throughout the department in all areas if QIC functionality and process.
  • Performs inventory adjustments, under the direction of the QIC Coordinator, as necessary to ensure ongoing inventory integrity.
  • Assists in organization and documentation of cycle counts and audits as directed by the QIC Coordinator.
  • Supports the collection and analysis of pertinent QIC related data as directed. 
  • Assists QIC Coordinator in prioritizing and organizing the daily work flow.
  • Encourages and perpetuates open communication as well as a “team atmosphere” throughout the department.
  • Provides feedback and input to coordinator/management as necessary regarding performance and processes throughout the department.
  • May perform responsibilities of QIC Coordinator for a period of time as authorized by management in the absence of a coordinator. 
  • Initiates / Completes product transfers between storage locations throughout the Coopervision Distribution Center.
  • Performs inventory searches by utilizing the warehouse management system and RF functionality.
  • Organizes/Maintains picking locations to ensure product availability and proper FIFO requirements.
  • Performs product restocking and put-away tasks.
  • Performs product retrieval for customer order shortages.
  • Performs product location checks to ensure location accuracy.
  • Participates in monthly cycle counts.

 

General Job Requirements:

  • Works scheduled holidays in order to maintain service levels for customers.
  • As business needs dictates, works extended hours to complete daily department goals or tasks to mandatory Saturdays.
  • Works scheduled hours and is ready to work at scheduled start times, notifies Supervisor prior to absence or tardiness in accordance with company policy.
  • Immediately informs Coordinator/Supervisor/Manager of safety, sanitation, and equipment malfunctions and concerns regarding quality issues.
  • Exhibits good communication skills – verbal, written, and comprehension of the English language.
  • Adhered to Standard Operating Procedures and Regulatory requirements.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:  

  • PC Skills
  • Forklift/ man-up experience preferred.

Experience:        

  • Intermediate computer skills required. Ability to utilize, develop and interpret Excel spreadsheets required. Basic course work in mathematics, data processing and business or equivalent training and/or experience helpful.  
  • Minimum of 1 year experience with Inventory Control processes and procedures such as cycle counting. 
  • Minimum of 1 year working in a computer based inventory control system a plus.  Minimum 1 year working in a distribution environment or equivale
