The Asset Protection Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating all Asset Protection functions to achieve maximum shrink prevention and protection of company assets across multiple brands. This position is responsible for ensuring the effectiveness of Asset Protection policies and procedures through the use of exception reporting and enabling an exceptional customer experience.
Responsibilities:
- Identifies, recommends, and implements processes and procedures to minimize loss of merchandise, money, or company assets.
- Develops and implements programs to aid in the prevention, detection and resolution of, internal and external theft.
- Cultivates and maintains strong relationships, building trust through fairness, honesty and openness.
- Effectively communicates AP training and educational coaching for field leadership and store teams.
- Builds awareness of theft and fraud mitigation strategies.
- Audits and investigates sources of known losses.
- Monitors inventory to identify theft or shortages.
- Investigates suspicious customer and/or employee activity.
- Researches, suggests and implements additional security measures.
- Monitors returns, voids, shortages, and shrink on an ongoing basis and investigate results outside acceptable ranges. Ensure reporting is timely and effective.
- Works with Human Resources, and Field Leaders to conduct internal investigations of employee theft or violations of critical controls policies.
- Downloads, saves and reviews footage of asset protection events and other matters as needed and provide copies to Risk Management and Law Enforcement, as necessary.
- Maintains an Asset Protection tracking sheet and provide metrics to leaders to highlight areas of improvement.
- Provides feedback to leaders for areas of improvement to reduce shrink, theft, and safety concerns.
- Audits security and safety procedures and equipment on a regular basis at all retail locations and provides feedback for areas of improvement.
- Network with local law enforcement, mall management, other retailers, and legal counsel.
- Provide a safe environment for customers and associates.
- Performs other duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Extensive knowledge of retail operations and asset protection strategies and procedures.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to prepare reports and documentation.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business Management, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in retail loss prevention, security, or law enforcement required.
- Wicklander – Zulawski certified
- Previous retail experience preferred
