About the role

Wood is currently looking for a talented entry level Graduate Engineer to support our Subsea Drilling & Wells group in the Houston, TX office. The Graduate Engineer will assist Engineers & other personnel in developing and / or delivering work scopes. 

This is an opportunity to join a world-class organization and work with senior staff on the subsea projects. 

Due to the nature of the role, we will consider only qualified candidates who are US citizens, or authorized to work lawfully in the US, without sponsorship from Wood

  • Assist with the performance of engineering studies.
  • Ability to execute the project by adhering to the agreed schedule and delivering within the budget.
  • Understanding various types of drilling riser analysis and ability to perform the analysis.
  • Interact with department members to ensure that work is produced and issued in a timely manner.
  • Establish good rapport and build relationships with peers and clients by responding to requests and communicating information in a timely manner.
  • Remain updated on current professional practices and maintain a high awareness of new products and procedures in industry by monitoring trade publications and actively participating in professional associations
  • Comply with the Wood quality assurance policies and apply highest quality standards in executing the projects including safety policies.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Petroleum, Ocean, Structural or Mechanical preferred); Master's degree an asset
  • Recent graduate or less than 2 years experience
  • Professional experience in the Oil & Gas industry (specific to subsea) preferred.
  • Must be US Citizen or eligible to work work lawfully in the US, without sponsorship from Wood (local candidates preferred)
  • Excellent communication (written and spoken) and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Strong analytical and trouble shooting skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and flexible environment.
