As a Software Engineer on our Merchant team, you will play a key role in developing and deploying scalable, reliable systems to support Merchants across the industry. Working alongside a team of 4 Software Engineers, you'll collaborate with Product, Integrations, and Sales to drive a culture of data-driven design and decision-making. Your experience in backend development, combined with your ability to execute and deliver results, will enable you to thrive in this challenging, fast-paced environment.

• Contribute to the development, support, and optimization of engineering solutions to reduce complexity and improve system performance
• Help foster a high-performance culture by sharing knowledge and promoting best practices within the team
• Assist in coaching junior engineers/colleagues on engineering best practices and improving code quality
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product management, risk, data) to deliver solutions that reduce fraud losses and enhance transaction volume efficiency
• Work with a modern cloud-based, event-driven microservice architecture, gaining experience in scaling and maintaining systems
• Develop secure, scalable code that supports thousands of concurrent users while ensuring high reliability and performance
• Contribute to quick iterations and troubleshooting in a collaborative, team-focused environment
• Contribute to architectural discussions with use of system design fundamentals.

• Participate in planning sessions, contribute to feature design, and provide input during daily stand-ups to ensure smooth project delivery

What you’ll bring to the team 

• You have 5+ years of demonstrated professional experience in the backend software engineering space 
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Proven experience in building scalable, reliable, and secure applications using C# and the .NET ecosystem, with a strong emphasis on architectural patterns such as event sourcing, domain-driven design, and microservices.
• Hands-on experience designing, building, and scaling applications on Microsoft Azure (ideally in an enterprise or high-volume environment).
• Familiarity with Azure services such as Functions, Cosmos DB, Service Bus, App Configuration, and Key Vault.
• Proactive with a focus on getting things done, strong attention to detail, and ability to produce high-quality work within set deadlines
• Experience contributing to the migration of large-scale internal processes, helping to streamline operations and improve system efficiency during transitions.
• Familiarity with relational database design and development, with hands-on experience in creating and optimizing schemas, writing efficient queries, and ensuring data integrity.  Using CQRS is a plus.
