Requisition ID req32619 Working Title Administrative Officer (Div) Position Grade 13 Position Summary SummaryThe New Mexico Board of Regents is seeking an Administrative Officer to provide direct support to the Secretary to the Board of Regents. This individual will coordinate, oversee, and/or perform a wide variety of administrative and secretarial functions, and provide a point of contact for internal and external constituents in a work environment that requires confidentiality and professionalism.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversees and administers the day-to-day activities of the office; develops policies, procedures, and systems which ensure productive and efficient office operation.
- Provides support to the Secretary to the Board of Regents in problem solving, project planning and management, and development and execution of stated goals and objectives.
- Serves as a primary point of administrative contact and liaison with other offices, individuals, and external institutions and agencies on a range of specified issues; assists in organization and facilitation of meetings, conferences, and other special events, as directed.
- Anticipates, identifies and troubleshoots issues of concern or significance; exercises discretion to provide timely information and necessary updates across multiple stakeholders.
- Oversees the operation of office accounts, and plans and monitors expenditures; as appropriate, develops and/or coordinates budgets for the office and associated accounts.
- May oversee and administer the day-to-day activities of one or more specialized program initiatives for the unit, as assigned.
- Assists in the coordination, supervision, and completion of special projects, as appropriate.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Conditions of Employment- Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.
High school diploma or GED; at least 7 years of experience related to the duties and responsibilities specified, of which at least 2 should be directly related to managing at least one of the functional areas of fiscal services, administration and/or human resources.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to interact and work effectively with administrators, academic leadership, faculty, students, community leadership, public officials, funding agencies, and members of the community at large.
- Demonstrated facilitation, organizational, and leadership skills
- Understanding of UNM and the key role it plays in New Mexico
