Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Advanced Systems Engineer with expertise in Cisco configuration, VMware virtualization, and a background in agile environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex systems infrastructure. Experience in government contracting (GovCon) environments is highly desirable, though not mandatory. This is a 3 month contract to hire and offers hybrid flexibility.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex systems infrastructure. Responsibilities:
- Systems Design and Implementation: Design, configure, and maintain network systems and infrastructure, including Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls.
- VMWare Virtualization: Manage, deploy, and troubleshoot VMware-based virtualization environments, including ESXi hosts and vCenter.
- Network Configuration: Configure, monitor, and optimize network performance, security, and reliability using Cisco equipment and protocols (e.g., VLANs, VPNs, routing, and switching).
- Systems Integration: Collaborate with software engineers, IT staff, and project managers to ensure seamless integration of systems within an agile environment.
- Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce security best practices and ensure that systems comply with industry standards and government regulations (e.g., NIST, FISMA, and CMMC if applicable).
- Agile Methodology: Participate in agile processes, contributing to sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospective meetings to ensure timely delivery of system updates and projects.
- Troubleshooting and Support: Provide advanced-level troubleshooting for network, server, and system issues, identifying root causes and implementing solutions quickly.
- Automation and Optimization: Use scripting or automation tools to streamline processes, improve system performance, and reduce manual workload.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed and accurate documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures.
- GovCon Environment (Plus): Support systems engineering efforts on government contracts, ensuring adherence to contract requirements and supporting compliance with security protocols and reporting standards.
