Transportation Risk Analyst

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for analyzing customer order trends, customer complaints pertaining to carrier damage and delays, and at-risk shipments.  They will work in conjunction with the Transportation Supervisor to identify areas of improvement in our daily processes, create KPI’s and metrics and recommend changes when necessary.  The Transportation Risk Analyst will work directly with the Transportation Supervisor to help drive our common goal of on-time, in-full delivery, while shipping in the most economical way.  They will also assist the Transportation Manager with budget preparation.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate existing and proposed plans/projects for their ability to meet transportation objectives.
• Manages customer shipment transit time report and makes recommendation based on the data (carrier changes, routing changes).
• Researches and analyzes freight costs, delivery methods and delivery schedules to minimize delivery costs and maximize customer satisfaction.
• Create weekly status reports, updates and KPI’s related to customer transportation complaints.
• Analyze, monitor, and review trends in customer transportation concerns and disputes.
• Submits customer claim payment information to 3rd party provider.
• Thoroughly research background information affiliated with customer disputes.
• Enter data into a Viega Force and/or spreadsheet application for subsequent analysis.
• Provide PTO coverage for International Transportation Operations Desk.

Special Job Dimensions

May be required to travel up to 10% of the time.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Excellent customer service and collaboration skills

• Intermediate excel, power point, and pivot table chart skills

• Ability to analyze large data sets

• Excellent problem-solving skills

 

Education, Certification/License & Work Experience

• College Degree required – Business, Supply Chain Management/Logistics

• 1-2 years traffic/transportation experience preferred

Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
