Job Description:

Reporting into Head, Enterprise Data Management office, the SVP, Technology, Data Management Standards and Changes will play a pivotal role in shaping the company's Data management governance and Data Management Strategy.  This role will be responsible for establishing and maintaining data management governance which includes procedures,, define and enforce standards, methodologies, and implement best practices for data management via leading the data governance program/team. The role will be collaborating with various stakeholders and cross-functional teams to execute solutions, establishing key performance indicators and identifying measurable outcomes that demonstrate the continuous improvement of data discoverability, data quality, and operational efficiencies. This AVP role is critical, with new skillset required to meet our Road to Strong for data management against the multiple MRAs regulatory finding. The enterprise data management office provides the enterprise data management strategy, standard, procedures, tools and metrics that the road to strong programs will need to comply with to ensure all regulatory findings remediations meet data management compliance. This role will be responsible for driving the accountability for data management across the enterprise by the Data Stewards (1B) and 1A data management roles/hats by implementing enhanced data management procedures, standard, strategy and controls and tracking against them.

  • Establish and lead a data governance program/team to define and maintain data management governance which includes procedures, enforce standards & procedures and methodologies across the Enterprise
  • Establish and ensure the adherence of consistent and comprehensive data policies, procedures, and standards across the data management 1A roles and data steward(1B)  roles across the LOBs
  • Establish a comprehensive view of data governance and data management key performance indicators, qualitative risk themes, dependency management and the development of program reporting practices and a centralized data repository
  • Strengthen data procedures and processes for identifying, reporting, monitoring, escalating, and remediating program concerns
  • Partner across various cross-functional teams and stakeholders to identify, categorize and prioritize critical data to be brought under governance
  • Represent the state of TD's data governance and data management performance to stakeholders and oversight bodies including Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI) and Financial Consumer Agency of Canada (FCAC).
  • Establish a lean and scalable change management model to support a streamlined flow of change activities including procedural documentation.
  • Establish and fortify data governance brand equity via communication strategies, heightened awareness initiatives, adept training programs and knowledge sharing platforms.
  • Foster a continuous improvement mindset and propose enhancements to the program informed by industry trends and best practices.
  • Develop strong relationships across 1st and 2nd lines of defense and lines of business to foster a consistent and collaborative approach to proactive governance.
  • Provide people leadership via hiring the best talent, setting clear goals, managing employee performance and championing excellence.
