Summary:  Performs plant maintenance on Ready Mix plants as needed each day.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

Perform Plant Maintenance as needed, which may require the following duties:

 

• Welding and Cutting.
• Changing conveyor belts.
• Bearing replacement.
• Changing oils/servicing
• Roller replacement.
• Changing/replacing guards
• Changing drive belts and gear boxes
• Changing wear liners
• Replace skirting

 

Daily Workplace Exams and Pre-Shift Safety Checks on all mobile equipment.  This is your first line of defense in protecting yourself from any potential Safety Hazards.  You will be trained how to do these exams properly.  If you have any questions about any safety hazards, ask your supervisor.

To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies :

 

• Computer skills
• Simple Math Skills
• Work well with other people
• Lift at least 50 lbs. a lot during the day.  Anything over that they should ask for help.
• Knowledge of lifting procedures (with chain ratchet, etc.)

Education and/or Experience                                                   

 

Less than high school education; must have computer skills, math skills.  Basic knowledge of quarry plant equipment, design and rock flow.

 

 

Language Skills                                                

 

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

 

 

Mathematical Skills                                                     

 

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
