Job Overview 

The Littleton Group is experiencing rapid growth and is looking for an experienced Casualty Field Adjuster to join our team. As a Field Adjuster, your role is integral to the insurance industry, where you will be responsible for investigating and evaluating insurance claims on-site. Conducting thorough inspections, analyzing policy coverage, and collaborating with experts, you will investigate liability and assist in settling any property damage or bodily injury exposures with all parties. Your keen attention to detail, excellent communication, and negotiation skills will enable you to provide fair and accurate claim settlements while ensuring compliance with industry regulations. With a focus on customer service and fraud detection, you will play a crucial role in helping policyholders navigate the claims process and achieve a sense of security during challenging times. 

 

This role is a full-time position based in San Antonio, TX. You must reside locally to this area to be considered for this position.

 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Local travel will be required for claim or scene investigations as necessary 
  • Determine extent of insurance coverage and liability on each filed claim
  • Investigate claims, including interviewing claimants, clients, and witnesses 
  • Obtain necessary records, including but not limited to, hospital records, police reports, physician records, etc. 
  • NMVTIS and CMS/Section 111 reporting 
  • Utilize appropriate preferred vendors 
  • Presents thorough and accurate reports to clients and excess carriers on claims investigations/situations 
  • Negotiate settlements for resolutions with claimants and their attorneys
  • Maintain control of litigation activities and costs per account requirements 
  • Effectively address and maintain incoming Docuclass documents in a consistent and timely manner 
  • Attend meetings, mediations, conferences, workshops, or training sessions 
  • Review written material to maintain current knowledge on principles, practices, and new development in assigned work areas 
  • Maintain and meet state specific licensing requirements in multiple states
  • Respond to client questions and comments in a courteous and timely manner 
  • Responsible for catastrophic losses, complex litigation, and other sensitive issues 
  • When handling property damage claims, work with appraisers on the scope of repairs and total losses, and assist with salvage disposal
  • Conduct onsite inspections as needed for both residential & commercial claims 
  • Coordinate with insured and claimant or body shops companies to ensure timely work progress 
  • Provide regular work progress reports to clients and carriers 
  • Prepare property loss spreadsheets to document contents losses, etc.
