Salary Range: $115,000-$140,000*
*The salary range listed is a guide for this position and may vary depending on experience, education, geographic location, and other qualifications. The final offer will be determined based on the candidate's individual merits and the company's compensation policies.
Assists in the development and deployment of best-in-class EHS programs, systems, and processes. Works with facility leadership in complying with federal, state, and local EHS regulations. Uses the EHS strategic plan as a template for continuous improvement of EHS metrics. Helps drive effective, sustainable implementation of corporate and local initiatives. Communicates with regulatory authorities with the assistance of senior EHS professional(s). Maintains an effective communication process with the locations operational and maintenance organizations. Provides training to facility employees and acts a technical EHS resource for site personnel.
This individual will have the opportunity to:
- Responsible for assisting the facility in complying with Clean Air Act including Title V, greenhouse gases and refrigerants. Expert level understanding compliance requirements for all air permit assessments and completes applications for new sources or source modification with assistance from EHS Managers.
- Prepares and submits environmental permits and plans in accordance with regulatory agency requirements and independently negotiates permit conditions with the agencies.
- Reviews, interprets, and evaluates environmental regulations and advises supervisors and management of the regulatory requirements and potential or imminent impacts to operations.
- Supports environmental inspections and auditing activities of plant operations and prepares associated reports for these activities as assigned.
- Responsible for scheduling, coordinating, and conducting routine and non-routine environmental monitoring activities, investigations, and inspections involving air and supporting similar efforts for other environmental programs.
- Support the sustainability and improvement of environmental management system components and program elements as described in ISO 14001.
- Support and assist management with their incident investigation process: determine root cause (s), develop corrective actions, and conduct closure verification reviews.
- Support health and safety functions for the facility as a member of the site EHS department as needed.
- Engage with local stakeholders for opportunities to maintain public relations.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Required: BS in an Environmental or other STEM related field and 5+ years of experience or a Master’s degree and 3 years of experience.
- Required: Experience permitting air pollution control systems in alignment with Title V compliance and best practices.
- Preferred: 5+ years of experience designing and implementing compliance strategies with EPA regulations.
- Years of Experience: 5+ for MS and 7+ with a BS
- Required: Subject matter expert of state and federal EPA regulations pertaining to air permitting and compliance assurance.
- Knowledge of ventilation operation, air pollution control operation and parametric monitoring.
- Develops policies and procedures based on OSHA beryllium related regulatory requirements and corporate guidelines.
- Proficient in data verification, correlation and preparation of EHS reports
- Performs calculations, data entry, data analysis, field monitoring and report writing
- Lead cross functional groups to implement improvements and resolve issues

The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
The candidate selected will have to qualify as either a U.S. citizen, a U.S. National, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a Person Admitted into the U.S. as an Asylee or Refugee., a National of a country that is not prohibited from having access to U.S. controlled technology (via a letter of assurance), or a Person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction.
