Program Manager, Global R&D Execution Excellence
JOB SUMMARY
The Program Manager orchestrates the execution of complex medical device development programs, through coordination of timelines, resources, and deliverables. Reporting to the Director, Global R&D Execution Excellence, you will collaborate with technical leadership and engineering teams to implement structured project management approaches that ensure successful delivery. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can synchronize diverse workstreams while supporting the strategic vision established by technical leadership. ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Orchestrate complex medical device product development initiatives, ensuring performance to schedule, scope, budget, and quality metrics.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans that capture dependencies, milestones, and resource needs across functional areas.
- Facilitate effective governance structures, including team meetings, stage gate reviews, and executive updates that enable timely decision-making.
- Anticipate and address execution risks, developing mitigation strategies in collaboration with technical and engineering leadership.
- Implement and track meaningful execution metrics that drive accountability and enable data-driven decisions throughout the development lifecycle.
- Develop and globally deploy project management best practices.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance execution efficiency and quality.
- Execute organizational change management strategies that facilitate engagement and effective utilization of best practices and metrics.
- Provide project management expertise and guidance to both technical teams and project contributors.
- Mentor and coach junior project management practitioners developing capabilities that enhance execution excellence across the organization.
- Ensure adherence to medical device regulations and quality standards throughout the development lifecycle.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education
Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline required or equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered. MBA or graduate degree desirable.
Experience
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in medical device development or related technical field.
- Proven track record of successfully coordinating complex technical initiatives in collaborative environments.
- Experience implementing and optimizing project management practices in regulated environments.
Skills
- Ability to manage the project lifecycle from initiation to close on projects or programs.
