Cloud Technical Accountant

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
  
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA)
  
• 10 years of experience in accounting or a related function, or 8 years with with an advanced degree in accounting, business, or finance.
  
• Experience in technical accounting research and the preparation of accounting policies and accounting position papers.
  
• Experience with US GAAP in revenue (ASC 606) accounting standards.
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in managing technical accounting for a public company in the High Tech industry.
  
• Experience in project management, in navigating ambiguous and complex projects with competing priorities.
  
• Ability to independently conduct technical accounting research and document findings.
  
• Ability to work with management and influence decision making.
  
• Ability to have a strong work ethic, grow in a fast-paced environment, and be adaptable to changing responsibilities and priorities.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

You'll lead an accounting process from end-to-end. Other responsibilities include reconciling balance sheets and P&L accounts, and providing supplementary financial information for internal and external reports.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $147,000-$221,000. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

• Perform technical research on complex accounting issues for Google Cloud and provide accounting consultation advice to business partners under US GAAP.
  
• Lead the implementation of new US GAAP accounting standards, including working with various cross-functional stakeholders.
  
• Keep business partners across Cloud abreast of developments in accounting policies and positions through issuance of various frameworks, training sessions and other meeting forums.
  
• Be a key technical resource for the Cloud Accounting team; draft and maintain global Cloud accounting policies.
  
• Provide periodic reporting on Accounting Issues and Policy changes to Accounting leadership.
