4-H Youth Development Extension Program Assistant II
Sevier County
Position is contingent upon funding and satisfactory work performance
The Extension program assistant will work up to 8 hours a week focusing on youth livestock programming. Sevier County’s youth livestock programs continue to grow and include a mix of projects and species. Programming is desired for Cattle, Horse, Poultry, Sheep, Swine, Meat Science and various educational contests including judging teams.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Plans, execute, evaluate, and report Livestock 4-H Youth Development educational programs under the direction of the Extension Director.
· Assumes responsibility for youth livestock projects, activities, shows, events, and committees.
· Secures and trains volunteer leaders and serves as an educational resource for educational youth programs within the county.
· Provide leadership for a program of activities that meets the needs of eligible clientele regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age, disability, religion or veteran status.
· Assume other duties as assigned.
· Be responsible for up to 8 hours of work a week.
Minimum/Required Qualifications (include education, experience, skills & abilities, licenses & certifications):
· Successful applicant must have a valid Tennessee driver’s license.
· Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, preference will be given to those with a degree related to youth development or agriculture.
· Clear background check will be required
· Previous knowledge of livestock production and youth livestock exhibitions and contests
Preferred/Desired Qualifications:
· Experience working with youth in and out of classroom settings preferred
