Sr. Systems Engineer COMSEC (Top Secret Cleared)

Job Summary: 
The Senior Systems Engineer with COMSEC (Communications Security) experience is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure communication systems and networks. This role involves working with encryption technologies, cryptographic key management, and ensuring compliance with COMSEC policies and standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in systems engineering, with a strong focus on secure communications and COMSEC practices. This is a 6 month contract to hire and requires an active Top Secret clearance or higher.

Responsibilities:

• COMSEC Policy and Compliance:
• Ensure compliance with COMSEC policies, standards, and regulations.
• Develop and implement COMSEC procedures and guidelines.
• Conduct regular audits and assessments to maintain compliance.
• Secure Communication Systems Design:
• Design and implement secure communication systems, including encryption technologies and protocols.
• Integrate cryptographic modules and devices into existing systems.
• Ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of communication systems.
• Cryptographic Key Management:
• Develop and implement cryptographic key management processes.
• Generate, distribute, and manage cryptographic keys.
• Maintain key inventories and ensure key security.
• Network Security:
• Implement network security measures to protect against unauthorized access and data breaches.
• Configure and maintain firewalls, VPNs, and other network security devices.
• Monitor network traffic for security incidents and anomalies.
• System Administration and Support:
• Administer and maintain secure communication systems and networks.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for COMSEC-related issues.
• Ensure systems are up-to-date with the latest patches and security updates.
• Collaboration and Communication:
• Work closely with stakeholders to understand communication security requirements.
• Communicate COMSEC policies and procedures to end-users and other IT staff.
• Provide training and support on COMSEC practices and technologies.
• Continuous Improvement:
• Stay updated with the latest COMSEC technologies, trends, and best practices.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement enhancements.
• Participate in cross-functional projects and contribute to the overall IT security strategy.
