Henderson Engineers is seeking a Senior Refrigeration Engineer to join our organization. We are seeking a highly skilled and knowledgeable Refrigeration Expert with a focus on research and regulatory compliance. This role involves staying at the forefront of industry trends, researching emerging technologies, and analyzing refrigeration systems to ensure compliance with current standards and regulations. The expert will collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to advise on best practices, manage documentation, and support the implementation of energy-efficient and environmentally sustainable refrigeration solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in refrigeration science, a deep understanding of regulatory frameworks, and a passion for advancing industry standards.

Minimum Qualifications for the Role are:
• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of engineering (ie: mechanical, electrical, fire protection, or architectural) and 15 years of relevant experience. Commensurate experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
◦ Professional Engineering (PE) license may be counted toward 1 year of direct experience.
• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
• Expert knowledge and proficiency in engineering design, A&E industry, codes, design guides and standards relating to a broad range of practices, projects and/or program types required.
• Working knowledge of earned value, contracts and construction processes and methods required.
• Working knowledge of Revit and Bluebeam Revu required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and engineering design software applicable to your discipline or focus.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Professional Engineering (PE) license highly preferred.
• Completion of FE exam, LEED and/or WELL accreditation highly preferred.

Skills and Duties you will be Responsible for while in this role:
• Conduct research on new refrigeration technologies, industry trends, and regulatory changes.
• Monitor and interpret local, national, and international refrigeration regulations (e.g., EPA, ASHRAE, ISO standards).
• Advise on regulatory compliance for refrigeration systems and assist in the certification process.
• Develop reports, technical papers, and guidelines on best practices for energy-efficient and environmentally friendly refrigeration.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement cutting-edge solutions and meet compliance requirements.
• Provide training and guidance on regulatory issues to internal teams and stakeholders.

Drafting & Design:
• Directs and oversees the preparation of simple to the most complex design documents, system layouts, detailed drawings, schematics and specifications.
• Leads project and design efforts from concept design through completion.
• Reviews shop drawings for conformance to plans and specifications.
• Performs research and makes recommendations as to the feasibility of systems or equipment. Evaluates and recommends products for their application.
