Supplier Quality Manager

SUMMARY:

The Supplier Quality Manager ensures that products coming into the building meet customer specifications.  This is done by leading the Supplier Quality team, building good relationships both inside and outside of Lincoln Industries and managing projects and challenges to meet goals.

WAGE TYPE: Salaried Exempt. FLSA Exemption: Administrative Exemption.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•          Lead and develop the Supplier Quality team.

•          Build strong relationships with strategic suppliers.

•          Communicate and hold suppliers accountable per part specific specifications.

•          Manage multiple supplier projects and challenges at once.  Working with other internal departments, delegating to Supplier Quality team members as well as running own projects.

•          Build strong internal relationships with Operations, Planning, Customer Quality, Sourcing, Accounting, Engineering and Customer Service

•          Visit suppliers throughout the U.S. and overseas.  (Average time away from home three days per month)

•          Track supplier metrics and use data to drive continuous improvement.

•          Perform periodic on-site supplier audits.

•          Coordinate supplier corrective actions.

•          Manage reject, return, and debit process for all non-conforming parts.

•          Utilize the Six Sigma Process to analyze supplier quality issues and drive improvements.

•          Develop and maintain communications about supplier quality issues in a cooperative and professional manner with all levels of staff and suppliers, by communicating openly, honestly, and constructively, treating all employees with dignity, respect, and courtesy.

•          Any other tasks as required fulfilling Lincoln Industries' Beliefs and Drivers.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be substituted for the expected levels of education and experience required.

Education and Experience:

Expected:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from a four-year college or university. 

• Leading talents include relationship building, positive attitude, self-confidence, process-oriented thinking, self-motivating, leadership.

• Six Sigma Green Belt certification.

• A technical aptitude to analyze defects and problem solve driving to root cause.

• Able to read engineering prints.

• Knowledgeable in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).

• 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing field with at least 1 year in a quality role.

Preferred:

• 5 years experience in a quality engineering role or manufacturing engineering role.

• 5 years experience in a manufacturing field with 2 years in a quality role.    

• Experience working with outside suppliers.

• 2+ years’ experience in steel and aluminum castings, machining and/or fabrication
