Position Overview

QinetiQ is seeking a dedicated Cybersecurity Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our IT Cyber Security team in support of the General Services Administration (GSA). The Cybersecurity SME will play a critical role in identifying emerging cyber threats, researching, and providing GSA Cyber leadership with support on the Highly Adaptive Cybersecurity Services Special Item Number (HACS SIN)

 

The ideal candidate should have a minimum of three years of experience in cybersecurity, with a strong background in conducting research, performing data analyses, developing written products, and producing presentations.

Responsibilities

• Organize and demonstrate motivation in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-starter with a positive attitude, capable of working under pressure and adhering to tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to ask the right clarifying questions to ensure tasks are completed as expected.
• Strong attention to detail, adhering to quality assurance/control plans.
• Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative information to extract highlights.
• Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Researching current government-wide security posture and potential upcoming government security needs and drafting documents with the said research to present as potential initiatives

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in cybersecurity
• Bachelors Degree 
• Previous work or educational experience in cybersecurity
• Strong communications experience
• One or more of the following certifications: CGRC, CISSP, CISM, Security+

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in Cybersecurity/IT or related field
• Knowledge of Cybersecurity solutions and recommendations regarding the implementation of NIST 800-53 controls, NIST compliance, OMB cybersecurity Memoranda, or cybersecurity Executive Orders
