The Opportunity

As a Compliance and Operational Risk Testing Analyst Lead specializing in IT Infrastructure, you play a vital role in the organization's second line of defense. Your responsibilities include conducting independent testing to ensure adherence to regulations and policies within departmental processes. By following the Enterprise Testing program methodology, you help maintain the integrity of the IT environment. With over eight years of experience in IT auditing and relevant certifications like CISA or CISSP, your expertise is bolstered by an advanced degree in Information Technology or Cybersecurity, as well as familiarity with distributed computing and cloud technologies.

We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Colorado Springs, CO, Charlotte, NC, Chesapeake, VA or Tampa, FL.

Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

What you'll do:

  • Develops the steps needed to test and/or analyze compliance with complex policies/procedures and laws/regulations.
  • Serves as expert in a specific subject/business area and provides guidance to team members on issues.
  • Leads and runs a grouping of tests to ensure operational risks and compliance requirements are adhered to.
  • Reviews and implements, as needed, work papers to support conclusions of test findings.
  • Provides input on allocation of resources to complete testing activities.
  • Performs qualitative analysis of data.
  • May develop executive briefs and present to key internal and external partners.
  • Builds, develops, and maintains relationships with the business and internal control partners (Audit, Risk & Compliance, Legal) to facilitate teamwork between all lines of defense for testing.

What you have:

  • Bachelor's degree OR 4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
  • 8 or more years of work experience (internal/external audit, operational risk/compliance testing, quality assurance)
  • Experience interpreting and applying federal and state laws and regulations and guidance or operational risk principles/concepts.
  • Knowledge of testing techniques and data analysis principles, as well as the ability to interpret subsequent results.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels of management.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

What sets you apart:

  • Active certification (i.e., CISA, CISSP, CISSP-ISSAP, CEH, Cisco CCNA, Cisco CCNP) in Information Security, Information Technology, IT Architecture, or Networking
  • 8+ years experience in IT/Information Security Audit, Testing, or Engineering. Experience as an IT/IS Examiner at a regulatory agency will also be considered.
  • Advanced Degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Risk Management, Engineering or Business
  • Distributed Computing, Cloud Computing, or IT Architecture experience a plus

Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $127,310 - $243,340.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.

 

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
